Island Vir can be reached very easily, since it is connected to the mainland via bridge. Therefore, the visitors can enjoy all the benefits of staying on the Mediterranean island, while at the same time being able to reach many interesting places without having to worry about the transportation and connections.

The climate of Vir is a true Mediterranean climate, dry summer months and mild winters. Over the year on average of over 2 500 sunny hours are recorded, and a low amount of rainfall, which makes it an interesting destination all-round the year.

Pebbly and sandy beaches are scattered along the coast of this beautiful island and everyone can easily find it’s favourite spot wheather it’s near the aquapark and coffee shops, or somewhere more secluded, such as the small island of Školjić with its pinewood and long sandy beaches.

The surface of the island is 22.38 km2, which makes this island the 20th largest in the Republic of Croatia and the eighth largest in the Zadar County.

There are three larger settlements on the island: Vir, Torovi and Lozice. The highest peak of the Source is Barbinjak, 116 m high.

On the island of Vir, in Kozjak Bay, are the remains of an old Venetian fortress from the 17th century.
